ABOUT
I am a literary and commercial translator working from Arabic and French into English. As a literary translator, I translate the voices that tell their own stories on their own terms. I translate to fight against misrepresentation. As a commercial translator, I enjoy the fields of international development, social sciences, and the environment. I am the winner of the Stinging Fly New Translator's Bursary, the 2021 Gulf Coast Prize in Translation, and I was longlisted for the 2021 John Dryden Translation Competition. I was an ALTA 2021 Virtual Travel fellow, and was mentored by Meena Kandasamy on the National Centre for Writing’s 2020/21 Emerging Translators Mentorship scheme. I was also the Centre’s translator in residence in May 2021. I volunteer for the World Kid Lit Project, and deliver creative translation workshops in schools through the Stephen Spender Trust.
